5 Star Audio Review ~ Keeping Quinn (The Next Generation) by Riley Edwards)

Synopsis:

He liked fast and loose—she was sweet and innocent.

Firefighter Brice Lancaster lived his life by a set of rules: No commitments, no attachments, no promises. Three rules that were easy to follow—rules that kept his heart safe, rules that should’ve kept his best friend’s cousin out of his bed.

So what was it about Quinn that made him lose his mind? Maybe it was her shiny midnight hair that made him forget he hated attachments. Or her emerald eyes that made him want to promise her the world. Or her sexy smile that made him insane with lust and the need to claim her innocence and keep her.

Quinn Walker didn’t believe in boundaries—never had. She’d spent her life bouncing from one thing to the next—the wild child of the group. So when Quinn moves in next door to the man she’s crushed on for years, she knew she was in trouble. Big, strong, tatted, sexy firefighter trouble. Or maybe it was Brice that was in trouble because Quinn wasn’t going to let this golden opportunity slip through her fingers. No wasn't an option.

It was supposed to be just fun.
They’d agreed on no strings.
Blinded by lust, they both gave in.
Brice broke his rules. Quinn let herself fall in love.

Then, in a cruel twist of fate, everything went up in smoke. Will one of them be strong enough to be honest—or was it all just a game?

Review:

Quinn and Brice’s story was not only perfect in this series but very different from the other men.  Brice is a firefighter with Jackson, his best friend and Quinn’s cousin.  He has always seen Quinn for the woman she was, but he stayed away.  He didn’t want to cross that line and ruin his relationship with Jackson but things took a turn when Quinn accepted her fate, at the time, and only wanted a sexual relationship.

Although that is not what he really wanted Brice took her up on that offer and things took a left, right, straight and crooked turn.  He knew what Quinn was the real thing and he wanted this life but the past made him leery and he didn’t want to attempt something that he knew he couldn’t give his all.  He knew getting involved would not only affect Quinn but also her family, his family, and that is something he wasn’t willing to risk until fate showed up and screwed them!

Quinn is put through the test of seeing something that may change her life.  Is she ready for the fallout? Can Brice save her from herself and the road ahead?  The pull and push between them showed their true feeling but someone instincts was definitely off.

Troy Duran and Devon Grace did a fantastic job with this story and continue to make the characters seem like they are next door neighbors and you are actually in the story with them.
