Synopsis:
The Army trained Lieutenant Liberty McCoy to be the best—an elite Special Forces soldier, just like her father and uncles. But nothing prepared her for the bossy, good-looking Navy SEAL who rescues her after a mission goes horribly wrong.
Navy SEAL Drake Hayes thinks his team is being sent out on a special purpose extraction. He’s had enough experience to expect the unexpected. But nothing prepared him for the brave, tough woman he finds.
Their attraction is immediate, overwhelming, and all-consuming. But distance and military regulations force Drake to walk away.
When Liberty’s family discovers her capture wasn’t an act of war but a decade’s old, personal vendetta and she’s still in danger, the men of the 707 move swiftly to exact their revenge. Haunted by the torture she’d endured, plagued with guilt, and heartbroken over losing the man she’d fallen in love with, Liberty spirals out of control, leaving her alone, lost, and adrift.
When Drake faces the decision to save his career and reputation or the woman he loves, the choice is easy. Leaving everything he’d worked so hard for behind, it’s time to follow his heart. Will Drake make it in time, or is Liberty too far gone?
Review:
Riley Edwards knocked Liberty and Drake’s story out of the
park!! The simplicity of love, value, trust, commitment and so much more burst
through the pages of this story.
Liberty was a special elite solider. She was the best of the best and loved her
team. During a mission, things took a turn,
and she was captured and tortured beyond anyone’s nightmare, but she held
strong. She was in a family of strong military
men and she knew what she needed to do to protect everyone and her
country. As the tables started to turn,
she was preparing for the worst, but the best happened.
Drake’s mission was to go in and get what was captured. His team knew the ins and outs and what
needed to be done. They were ready, they were tight and they are dangerous in
their own way. They knew what they were getting themselves
into but things were not as they should have seemed. The true nature of the battle ahead for not
only Liberty but the tam was beyond what anyone could imagine. The history that unfolded in this story kept
everyone on their toes but didn’t keep them out of danger.
Riley Edwards took us on a ride that I would never jump off. It was adventurous, hair pulling and nail
biting. I loved the way the narrators
took this story as their own and seemed like they were living it!!
