3.5 Star Audio Review ~ The Evolution of Us by D. Kelly

The Evolution of Us

They say most people meet the person they will marry while in high school. Balancing one another perfectly, Holly Ryan and Declan James were together through most of college—until their relationship blew up, leaving Declan with more questions than answers.

For the past two years, Declan has tried everything he can think of to earn Holly’s forgiveness, but even if he manages to help her let go of the past and give them another chance at happiness, she still has a secret. Not to mention, she can’t get over the revolving door of women he seems to have coming in and out of his apartment.

Declan is desperate to prove to Holly she’s the one for him and isn’t above using his celebrity status or enlisting the help of their friends to win her back.
All’s fair in love and war, right?

Audio Review:

The Evolution of US is a time line story of how Declan and Holly fell in and out of love.  Declan is an internet sensation with a lot of opinions.  At times it seems he can only hear and see himself. At a young age he saw and believed in many things.  He fell in love, watched Holly grow up without a mother and then watched her cave when her mother showed back up.  He protected his friends and made sure he stood up for what was right.

Holly knew what she wanted out of life and tried like hell to make sure all the decisions she made was right.  She fell hard for Declan but couldn't be the person that she wanted to be.  She held on to things that she should have shared and made her life hard.  She knew what she wanted but it may be too late to get it. The decisions that she made may or may not have changed her life in a drastic way but despite it all she still held tight to the one things that would either make or break her relationship with Declan.

As I listened to this story I often thought what makes Declan things he deserves Holly.  There were so many of his wrongs compared to a few of hers, why take the chance but then I saw it.  That feeling of this is the only person for me and even through my wrongs, they are still able to see the heart that only belongs to them.  The narrators were able to bring the love that we longed for to light.
