Before I begin my review I must say I was so blown away with Author Catherine Wiltcher's writing I could not put Hearts of Darkness down. I was in such a book funk and I was instantly pulled out reading Dante and Eve's story.
Dante is a devil but he has this soft side that sometimes overrides what is truly is. He doesn't care about life, people and certainly not about himself but when he laid eyes on Eve it call changed instantly. There was something about Eve that somehow made him believe there is a higher "power" that can save his soul. She was his light...his angel...and she became his soul.
Eve was on a mission and she needed to bring down those who hurt her family in a major way. She knew what she needed to do but there were so many circumstances that pulled her in many different directions.
When the lives of Dante and Eve come together all things change. There is loss, love, resentment, control and fire. The fire between the two of them is hot but will this fire burn out? Many secrets are revealed, many lives changed and many more secrets still yet to be revealed.
I could not put this book down and will read it again and again. Catherine is a superb writer and I am excited to read more of her fabulous writing.
