When he does, they form an alliance to bring Robert down for not only hurting Claire, but for the death of Robert’s first wife and Cooper’s mother, Marie. As Claire digs deeper into Robert’s past, she learns some truths that can never be forgotten. Suddenly, Claire is in danger, and Cooper is the only one who can help her. Enter the world of Claire, Cooper, and Robert as new alliances are formed, relationships are shattered, and feelings simmering under the surface are suddenly brought to light. Can Claire survive the truth long enough for Robert to finally face retribution for his past?

Review:

Retribution definitely wasn't what I expected and it was so good!  K.A. Robinson did an excellent job with Cooper and Claire's story.

Claire was as innocent as they come. Her life wasn't the greatest and she needed an "out".  When she met Robert, he was what she thought he would be. She had questions with the way he acted and how demanding he was but there was always a reason and a promise.  Promises to be the person who she thought he was ran rapid and she wanted the fairy tale so she believed him.

Cooper, her step son, was different. He was refreshing and brought other things to the table.  He was the forbidden fruit that she wanted and needed.  The relationship they had was rocky but fate brought them where they should be.  Once the tables started to turn and more doors opened, finally truths started coming out and things fell into place.

I loved the story line and yes...I held my breath on several scenes hoping for things that didn't happen.  Cooper was very alpha but he wasn't too alpha. His mission was clear and he was not leaving without Claire.  They were each others lifelines more than they knew.  The events played out perfectly!!
