“They killed me, but I survived.”

Three years after Rory Riordan foiled her own murder, she still trusts no one. Not Dr. Z, the eccentric college professor who has taken her under his wing, not Benji, the endearing, attractive classmate who insists on following her around, and certainly not Cy, the beautifully dark and mysterious boy who sits on the first row in Dr. Z’s Astrobiology class and asks far too many questions.

When Rory witnesses Cy being abducted by soldiers in the middle of the night, she finds herself submersed in a world that holds even more secrets than she could imagine--even darker secrets than her own.

From #1 New York Times Bestseller Jamie McGuire, experience the perfect combination of her bestselling books Providence & Beautiful Disaster. This New Adult Sci-Fi Romance is an action-packed, whiplash-inducing roller coaster ride. Page after page, this unpredictable, dark and sexy nail biter will keep readers guessing until the very end!

---REVIEW---

I adore Jamie McGuire's writing so when the opportuniry presented itself that I was able to read an upcoming release of hers, I literally jumped on the chance without even realizing the type of book I was going to be reading. I knew it would be Sci-Fi and I knew it would be different but I wasn't prepared for how in love I would fall with this story.

Apolonia is the new Sci-Fi standalone from the amazing Jamie McGuire. It follows the strong and determined Rory. Rory died, but somehow, someway she's still alive, but on one horrible night, she lost everyone she loved and was closest to. Rory is distant. She doesn't like being close to anyone in fear of losing them too. Benji, a classmate of Rory's just wont take no for an answer, and he relentlessly pursues Rory until she finally caves and decides that maybe she can be his friend.

Enter mysterious and sexy Cyrus. Cy is drawn to Rory and Rory to him but the pull they feel, neither one of them can explain. Cy is different and Rory can't explain it. She begins to feel something for him and even though she tries her hardest, she starts to develop feelings for Benji.

The love triangle in this book was maddening. I loved Cy, I was rooting for Cy. I didn't know how I felt about Benji for the longest time. At certain times I felt like he was the bad guy, the enemy. It was hard to get a feel for which guy Rory truly belonged with. But Cy had secrets that Rory had no idea about and Benji had a secret that could blow all of Rory's world apart.

The story took so many twists and turns that I literally was gripping my chair waiting for what would come next. The biggest plot turn threw me for a loop but I loved it. I loved how Jamie McGuire could keep you flipping the pages, wanting more and more. I loved that I couldn't decide which male hero I liked because it gave them both a fighting chance until the end of the book. I loved the end, because I really thought there would be more sadness and heart ache for Rory but the story gave me a happy ending.

I think Jamie McGuire could write a story on a napkin and I would read it. Her writing is that fabulous, and Apolonia was just the same. It didn't disappoint.. And I loved, LOVED the reason behind the title. It wasn't what I was expecting so that made me love this book even more. If you're looking for a different style book with all the sass and awesomeness that you're used to, then Apolonia is the book for you, especially because it comes from such an amazing author.

4 stars for Apolonia
