HOLY HOT Damn!!
Have you met Jesse Walker?
Better yet, have you met his best friend Garth Black?
Heard that expression, Save a horse, ride a cowboy. That is the epitome of Jesse Walker and Garth Black!
Jesse and Rowen pick up right where they left off in this book, with Jesse in Montana working on the farm and Rowen in Seattle pursuing her dream of an art career. Jesse is the perfect boyfriend, loving, loyal and just plain wonderful not to mention he looks good in a tight pair of blue jeans and white t-shirt! He loves Rowen unconditionally, flaws and all.
"Pliable, gooey putty. I never thought I'd be so damn happy to be a glorified form of Play-Doh in a girl's hands."
The sun rises and sets on Rowen for Jesse. They are one another's whole world. They are it for each other.
"Rowen Sterling consumed me."
But sometimes always and forever is not the end.
Things begin to change between Rowen and Jesse, slowly driving that wedge between.
Can they overcome the strain of distance?
Can they overcome the strain of Jax (Oh yeah, another hot man)?
Can they overcome Jesse's past demons when they are walking in Rowen's present?
"I'm sorry for lying about the internship, and I'm sorry for the way you found out. I'm sorry for throwing Mar back into your life like that, and I'm for what that did to you......You were the only person I never wanted to let down, and I did in so many ways."
Through it they try to move forward and get their happily ever after. This is a story of true pain and suffering for both characters. A story of moving on from the past demons who have haunted you. A story of love, compassion and hope.
"You know me at my best, and you know me at my worst. You know my past and my dreams for the future. You know me."
This was by FAR my favorite book the amazing Nicole Williams has ever written. I laughed, cried and got so mad at the characters. Its hard to find a book that draws you in on so many levels. It was amazing and touching, one you didn't want to end.
They deserved their happily ever after and that's exactly what they got!
NOW because I'm so excited for Garth Black's book Finders Keepers, I wanted to leave you with some of my favorite quotes of his from Near and Far.
"Do I look like I made a funny?"
"You're my only friend, Jess. You win the best title by default."
"I've been having nightmares every since I saw those guys going at it in a tent in Brokeback. You gazing into a fire across from me with a dumb smile on your face while a tent looms off to the side isn't doing anything to ease my fears of getting Brokeback'ed out here."
