5 Star Audio Review ~ Christmas Staycation by Meghan Quinn

Blurb:

Nothing says Merry Christmas like fake fiancés, family pressure, and accidentally falling for your ex's brother.

Nolan never met a spotlight he didn't like. As a major league baseball player with a filthy mouth, an ego the size of the North Pole, and zero interest in behaving, he's perfectly happy breezing into Christmas in Kringletown like the charming disaster everyone expects him to be.

Taran, on the other hand, has made an art form out of keeping the peace. She's polished, careful, and so committed to making everyone else happy that she's somehow agreed to a fake wedding with her ex just to keep her family's holiday from imploding.

There's only one problem: the ex in question is Nolan's brother, and Nolan sees right through her. He knows Taran deserves better than pretending her way through life.

And he'd really like "better" to be him.

Now Taran is juggling family expectations, holiday chaos, and a man who is far too cocky, far too funny, and far too determined to bulldoze every wall she's ever built.

But with Christmas closing in, secrets snowballing, and one very fake engagement threatening to blow up in spectacular fashion, this holiday season is about to get messy. And someone's sure to end up on the naughty list.

Review:

Taran and Nolan’s story was absolutely hilarious and had me laughing from page one! Taran is the kind of person who wants to keep the peace at all costs. She’d rather tell a few little lies to make sure everyone is happy—and, you know, stays alive! 😂

Christmas is here, and when her ex, Guy, invites everyone over, Taran finds herself going along with a lie that makes everyone believe they’re happy and about to get married.

Enter Nolan—Guy’s brother and the man who has had the biggest crush on Taran from day one. He wants her, but there’s just one tiny problem…she’s his brother’s fiancée! When Nolan arrives in his camper and discovers some very interesting news from Taran, suddenly everything starts falling into place exactly the way he wants it to.

Taran and Nolan try to do the right thing, but what happens when doing what feels right also feels completely wrong? Can they keep pretending until they figure out what they really want? And can Taran continue being the calm, peacekeeping person she’s always been when Guy turns out to be much less than what she wants in a partner?

Brandon Francis and Kelsey Foster did an amazing job narrating these characters. They really brought the personalities and humor to life and made this such a fun audiobook to listen to.

The story was great overall, although there were a few parts where I wanted to skip ahead. The supporting characters were an absolute hoot and kept me laughing, especially Taran’s aunt! 😂

This was a fun, chaotic, hilarious Christmas romance with plenty of drama, secrets, and entertaining characters. Definitely a 5-star audiobook for me!

More about Meghan:

When I was in high school I occasionally read books but was consumed by other teenage things so I didn't take the time to appreciate a good book on a cloudy day, wrapped up in a blanket on the couch. It wasn't until I received a Kindle for Christmas one year that my world completely flipped upside down. When looking for books I came across the Contemporary Romance genre and was sold and I haven't turned back since.

You can either find my head buried in my Kindle, listening to inspiring heart ripping music or typing away on the computer twisting and turning the lives of my characters while driving my readers crazy with anticipation.

I currently reside in beautiful Colorado Springs where the sun is always shining and there is a trail waiting to be hiked on every corner. I share a lovely and warm home with the love of my life and my five, four-legged children.
