“Naughty and Nice” by Aleatha Romig was everything I wanted and more! Liliana and Nick completely stole my heart. Nick, a loyal lieutenant in the cartel, is stuck watching everyone else advance in rank while he remains in place. Liliana, newly widowed and absolutely not looking for love, is the last person he expects to change his life… but when he approaches her with a proposal that’s supposed to be practical, everything gets deliciously complicated.

I loved how protective Nick is—both because of the cartel lockdown and because his feelings for Liliana start growing far beyond what he planned. Watching him struggle between duty, ambition, and genuine affection made his character incredibly compelling. And Liliana? She is so much more than the grief-stricken widow people expect. She’s strong, resilient, and refuses to be anyone’s shadow. Their chemistry is undeniable, their connection heartfelt, and their friendship-to-more journey kept me turning pages late into the night.
