5 Star Audio Review ~ Dangerous Minds (Takeback #5) by Riley Edwards

Synopsis:

Once upon a time there was young, naïve girl who fell madly in love with her brother’s Navy SEAL friend. It was one glorious, unforgettable summer. A magical whirlwind of new and exciting emotions. But this girl knew she wasn’t ready for Cole Keniston, not at 23. So, she did the only thing she could do, and left him.

It's me, I’m the girl who’d found her forever love and still walked away. I’ve waited years—more than 20 of them—to find my way back to Cole. I’ve come prepared for battle, and I’m armed with information Cole and his team needs to take down a human-trafficking ring. I am no longer the unsure, sheltered girl I once was. I’m wiser, stronger, and ready to take on any obstacle that stands in my way of claiming my future.

The former SEAL is about to be outplayed by the very ethos he’s lived his life by: I will never quit. I persevere and thrive on adversity. If knocked down, I will get back up, every time. I will not fail. That's if I don't die at the hands of the enemy before Cole and my brother can find me.

Review:
I don't know how I felt in the beginning about Mia and Cole.  The love/hate relationship was strong between the two of them.  Cole loved Mia when they were young but her walking away from him, and not understanding why, made his heart turn cold.
Cole really loved Mia and seeing her again, only because her brother needed Cole to keep her safe, made him think about the past.  He wondered why and what could have been.  Mia is still very in love with Cole and has been for over 20 years but little does she know those feelings are definitely shared.
Cole and Mia finding each other again on top of finding trafficked women makes their life somewhat different.  Can Cole deal with the life Mia now has? Is Mia prepared to leave what she knows and loves?
This audio was great and a different type of read from RIley Edwards.  Aaron Shedlock and Emma Wilder did a fantastic job narrating this story!
