Synopsis:

A vampire aristocrat, Peyton is well aware of his duty to his bloodline: mate with an appropriate female of his class and carry on his family’s traditions. And he thought he’d found his perfect match—until she fell in love with someone else. Yet when his split-second decision in a battle with the enemy endangers the life of another trainee, Peyton has to face the idea that his future, and his heart, actually lie with another.

Novo, as a female in the Black Dagger Brotherhood’s training program, feels like she has to prove herself to everybody—and she has no interest in being distracted by falling in love. But when Peyton proves to be so much more than a rich playboy, she is forced to confront the tragedy that has broken her soul and closed her off from love.

As the two grapple with Novo’s past and Peyton’s present, another couple must contend with an erotic connection that is unparalleled—and potentially scandalous.

Saxton, who has had his heart broken, discovers in himself a deep-seated attraction to Ruhn, a new member of the household. But will the other male explore the connection? Or will he close his mind and his heart to what could be true love . . . and cost Saxton everything?

Review:

I have  been a JR Ward fan for quite some time and Blood Fury was everything I expected but it wasn't my favorite book.  There are a lot of things that everyone who has rad the BDB series want and expect.  I didn't feel the characters were as connected as their counterparts.

I fell madly for Wraths story and how it played out.  The love between Wrath and Beth and his brothers and their mates were nice, dangerous and raw but for me I felt like I've seen this before.  I needed something new between Peyton and Novo.  I still loved how raw the attraction was, how their chemistry and strong and how the bickering leads to lust which leads to the hot passion that have.  Peyton loved to be some what glamorous and Novo was a hardass and made no qualms about it.  She was tough and could hold her own even with Peyton.

I was so excited for Saxton and Ruhn's story.  I loved Saxton being a teacher to Ruhn.  He wanted him to be sure and understand his sensuality. The love that he showed, his caring attitude made me want Saxton to have the world.  I wanted more of them.  While reading you could feel Saxton's love and it made me want to continue.

I must say I liked Blood Fury but I can't say I loved it.  I will go back and read all of the BDB and work my way back, which could change my mind.
