5+ Star Review ~ The Empty Jar by M. Leighton

THE EMPTY JAR IS LIVE!  And what better way to celebrate Mother’s Day than with a book like this, a poignant tale about the power of love.
Three months touring Europe.
Romantic.  Dazzling.  Unforgettable.
The trip of a lifetime.

But some lifetimes are shorter…

We couldn’t have known it would work out this way.  No one could.  No one could’ve guessed that something so beautiful could be so tragic.

But it is tragic.
Yet so, so beautiful.

That’s what sacrifice is—beauty and tragedy.
It’s pain and suffering for something or someone you love.

And this is the ultimate sacrifice.
One stunning act of true love.

This is our story.

Our true love story.

Review:

When I started "The Empty Jar" I didn't know what to expect. Will this take me away, will it pull me out of the slump I'm in, can I imagine myself in this family and the answer to all of those is YES!!

This story is tragic yet beautiful and it took me back to my childhood. The things mentioned in this story are things that I did with my father as a child and I reminisced and shed tears of joy and sorrow!

Knowing why this book was written brighten my soul and I was happy to share the memories. Lena and Nate's story bought a little anger but also peace.

Lena was a trooper but it was hard to see her go through the things given to her. This beast was in full force but never broke her spirit to live and bring things in the world that she and Nate wanted. She was strong but during parts of her breaking down, it broke my spirit and my heart.

I loved Nate and his tenaciousness. His will was profound and his love was undeniable. His strength was beyond that of Samson and his loyalty never faltered. I enjoyed his love of life and his spirit to never show fear but always have the heart of a lion.

The Empty Jar took me on a whirlwind of emotions and boxes of tissues. There were parts that made me remember things about my grandfather and his journey. I loved this story and I know in my heart this book is by far the best book of 2016!!

There are so many quotes that I truly enjoyed but this is by far my favorite!!

"Fill your jar. As long as your jar is full, your life will never be empty. And every chance you get, put your face in the sun, and show the wind how to fly. Be fearless, my baby girl. Be fearless.

This is what readers are saying about the new story from M. Leighton:
The ultimate love story.”
“It is a masterpiece.”
“Heartbreaking. Hopeful. Brilliant.”
“Hands down the best book I have ever read.”
“If I could only tell you to read one book this year, it would be this book.”
“After today, life as I know it will be ‘AEJ’, after The Empty Jar. I will not be the same.”

This personal note is something the author asked that we share with you:

A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR

This book is not a romantic fairy tale. Yet, it’s the most romantic story I’ve ever told.  It’s a journey of pain and loss, of hope and happiness.  It’s both achingly tragic and exquisitely beautiful.  It’s a love story.  A true love story about real love. The kind that sees you through the night and holds you when you cry. The kind that won't give up and never lets go. The kind we all dream about and few find. But it’s real. I promise you, it’s real. I’ve seen this kind of love, and I've seen this kind of heartbreak. I got to see it up close and personal, and quite honestly, I will never be the same.  I hope it changes you as much as it changed me.
