Chasing River Quote Card 2

About CHASING RIVER:

Armed with two years' worth of savings and the need to experience life outside the bubble of her Oregon small town, twenty-five-year old Amber Welles is prepared for anything. Except dying in Dublin.  Had it not been for the bravery of a stranger, she might have. But he takes off before she has the chance to offer her gratitude.

Twenty-four-year-old River Delaney is rattled. No one was supposed to get hurt. But then that American tourist showed up. He couldn't let her die, but he also couldn’t risk being identified at the scene—so, he ran. Back to his everyday life of running his family’s pub.  Only, everyday life is getting more and more complicated, thanks to his brother, Aengus, and his criminal associations. When the American girl tracks River down, he quickly realizes how much he likes her, how wrong she is for him.  And how dangerous it is to have her around. Chasing her off would be the smart move.

Maybe it's because he saved her life, or maybe it's because he's completely different from everything she's left behind, but Amber finds herself chasing after River Delaney. Amber isn’t the kind of girl to chase after anyone.

And River isn't the kind of guy she'd want to catch.

--4 STAR REVIEW--

Chasing River is the third standalone story in K.A. Tucker's hit series. It was captivating, intriguing, climactic. Everything you look for in a good story was there.

Chasing River is set primarily in Ireland with a strong sense of Irish history and the IRA. Our hero, River has strong connections to it all.

This story follows Amber, a sheriff's daughter from a small town in Oregon on a journey to find herself, which leads her straight to Ireland and straight into danger. River saves Amber but disappears shortly after. Wanting to thank her mysterious savior, Amber hunts River down.

The chemistry and connection between River and Amber is explosive. She felt something, saw something in his eyes from the very start. The dynamic between these two was a refreshing and fun thing to read. I loved Amber's personality. I loved her free spirit and need to find herself. She was very relatable. River was just the same. I don't know what it was but I loved him. The two of them made this story just so much more.

K.A. Tucker told such a different take on a romance, but still showed everything that makes this story hers. It was complex. It was interesting. I sat down and read this all on one sitting. The words just seemed to flow together perfectly for me. I have loved every book in this series. They each have such a great dynamic to them. I can't wait to see what the next one will hold.
