REVIEW:

Want something sexy? Look no further! Want different and fun? You get it here! Trust me, it's all there and so much more.

Diamonds by K.A. Linde, the first book in her upcoming Glitters Series was fantastic and just the book I needed to get me out of my reading dry spell. K.A. Linde tells the tale of Bryna Turner, Queen Bee, Hollywood's hottest film producers daughter, and girlfriend to the hottest up and coming movie star that anyone has seen lately. Bryna is conniving, spoiled and beautiful, all things that could make a girl dangerous. Add in being top of her senior class and being one of the most beautiful seventeen year old girls in her school as well and you're bound to get something feisty and fierce.

Bryna craves more though. Bryna craves to be noticed and cared about for herself and who she really is, not for what she has and who she knows. When Bryna meets the mysterious stranger that captivates her from their first meeting, she takes the leap and goes home with the man she thinks can change it all. Too bad he's more than ten years older than her and married.

Jude steals Bryna. Mind, body and soul. He shows her that he sees her loneliness and sees her true self, but everything isn't always as it seems.  Bryna, Jude and her sexy Hollywood boyfriend, Gates were enough to make my jaw drop and heart race.

Bryna was such a complex character. At points I completely was in love with her and at other times I just wanted to slap her straight. She craved something and she went for it, no matter the costs to her or those around her. Jude was a character that I wanted to love, I really did, but in the end he made me hate him and even loath him for turning Bryna in to the Gold Digger she never wanted to be.

I honestly think my favorite character from this book was Gates. I loved him. I loved that even when Bryna pushed him away or when he admitted his wrongs, Gates still wanted to be by Bryna's side and stand up for her. To me, Gates was truly the only one ever really on Bryna's side.

This book had more ups and downs, twists and turns then any other book I have read lately. Again, like all her other beautiful books, K.A. Linde has left you speechless. She shows just how much she deserves the title of Angst Queen. Her writing flowed effortlessly for me. She gave so much emotion to this story about a girl who didn't know what real love really was until she lost it.

But that ending, man was it a doozie. Talk about leaving us hanging.... Ugh. And now the wait for Gold begins and the finale of Bryna Turner's Gold digging tale.

4.5 STARS!

AUTHOR INTERVIEW:

(Crazy, Chaotic Book Babes) So excited to be able to sit down with one of our favorite authors! First off, hi Kyla! Thank you SO much for taking the time to join us! It means a lot!

(K.A. Linde) It’s so great to be here!

(CCBB) Ok, first things first! What inspired you to want to write?

(K.A. Linde) I don’t think there was ever just one thing. I always wrote. I wrote my first book as a high school freshman and wrote the sequel and the start of the third book the rest of high school. None of which will ever see the light of day. I used to plot out stories in my notebooks in college. That’s how the Avoiding series started. It was just a fun hobby and outlet for my emotions and now it’s a career!

(CCBB) Your newest novel, Diamonds was just released! It was fantastic by the way!! Where did the idea for this series come from? Was it something you just dreamt about or was it something you planned to write?

(K.A. Linde) Thank you! I’d always planned to write this series, but I thought they would start with Gold! I actually started writing Gold before I even finished Diamonds in Jan of 2012. Then I went on vacation with some friends in Santa Monica and the idea to write a story on HOW Bryna became a gold digger just took how and I couldn’t stop!

(CCBB) Diamonds is apart of a series. The next novel in the series is Gold. Can you share a bit about that novel with us? Maybe a special sneak peek! ;)

(K.A. Linde) Gold continues Bryna’s story. They’re connected, but I don’t think you necessarily have to read Diamonds before you dive in. Though it will be a better experience. Bryna is a freshman in college at her legacy school, Las Vegas State (a made up university that I had a lot of fun with). She’s dealing with the aftermath of what happens in Diamonds, and is trying to find her place in this new world. In walks this hot older guy, who offers her everything she could want on a silver platter and she thinks this is the life, but nothing is really as it seems.

Sneak peek for Gold:

“Are you ready now?”
“That depends…”
She leaned back against the wall of the Jacuzzi and surveyed him just out of her reach. Her smile was mischievous and her head full of schemes. She couldn’t even help it. They came to her unbidden.
“What does it depend on?”
“You.”
“What can I do to change your mind?” he asked.
“I need you to give me something.”
“What can I give you that I haven’t already?” He didn’t seem unhappy. More like he was willing to give in to her demands even though he had just said earlier today that he liked her because she didn’t want anything.
But he thought she wanted money. That is where she had been going wrong all along. She had thought that withholding sex would hold him and keep him interested. For a time that had worked, but she wasn’t Anne Boleyn. She couldn’t wait six years for her crown. She just needed him to give her the one thing she would never give out again.
“None of what you’ve given me matters for this.”
“You didn’t like what I’ve given you?” he asked skeptically.
“I loved everything,” she purred. “But that’s not what I want from you.”
“Tell me and it’s yours.”
Here goes nothing.
“This right here.” She tapped his chest on the left side twice and let her hand linger. “Your heart.”
Hugh’s smile was victorious. “You stole that with a smile the first time I met you.”

(CCBB) We want to know more about your characters! What has been the most difficult male character you've ever written? I bet it was Jack from the Avoiding Series!

(K.A. Linde) No! Jack is by far the easiest! He is so so so easy to write. When he is on the page, it’s like lightening speed. I can’t write him fast enough to keep up with what he’s saying. The hardest character to write was probably Grant McDermott from the Take Me series. I wrote that series in first person and half of the book from his POV so I really had to be IN his head in a way I wasn’t with any of my other characters.

(CCBB) What about female character? Who was the most difficult for you to write and get into their head?

(K.A. Linde) The most difficult to write would probably be Bryna from Diamonds and Gold. She’s a challenge, because I’ve never been in her shoes and she is this feisty no-holds-barred bitch that just takes over a room. But she’s also my favorite, because she just leaps off the page at you!

(CCBB) We've got to ask about content.. Some of your books touch on some pretty sexual content. But its fabulous! We love our sexy time with Jack and Grant. Is there a content be it taboo, etc that you would never write about?

(K.A. Linde) I don’t think so. I would write about anything as long as it fits the story. I like to write sexual because my characters are sexual. Sex happens. People want sex! I want sex! LOL I really want to write a ménage scene, but I just haven’t had the right character for that so you might look out for that in an upcoming book. Otherwise, I enjoy dark reads though I’ve never really written one myself. So it might be a thought for future projects

(CCBB) Tell us a little about who your favorite authors are? Your go to, drop everything for authors? It's always fun to see who one of your favorite authors loves!

(K.A. Linde) I read a lot of YA fantasy and dystopian so most of them are in that genre—Sarah J. Maas, Leigh Bardugo, Marie Lu, Alexandra Bracken, Marie Rutkoski, Cassandra Clare, Richelle Mead. I also love Philippa Gregory’s historical romances. On the contemporary side I read anything Madeline Sheehan and Viv Daniels.

(CCBB) What is your all time favorite book? What makes it your favorite?

(K.A. Linde) Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card (and then Brave New World by Aldous Huxley) Because I can read it over and over and over again and get something different from it every time. It has fantasy, philosophy, politics, intrigue—everything! I’ve been reading it since the 8th grade and I still want to read it again.

(CCBB) What are you currently reading?

(K.A. Linde) Right now I’m reading The Offering by Kimberly Derting, book 3 in her Pledge series.

(CCBB) What can we expect from you in the future? We can't wait for more from you!

(K.A. Linde) My plans include finishing out the All That Glitters series—Bryna gets one more book with Gold out July 7th, her two best friends Trihn and Stacia each get a stand alone book, Platinum & Silver. Then I want to finish out my Record series spin off—Struck from the Record for Clay and Broken Record for Savannah.

(CCBB) Thank you so so much for taking the time out to join us today! Its so been so fun and awesome getting to know you and your works a little bit more!!! We can't wait for the next story by you. It’s really been a pleasure, Kyla!
