“She’s beauty for my ashes. And I’m hope for her heartache.”—Cole Danzer
Pocketful-of-Sand250

I don’t know what makes a great love story. Is it that instant attraction when boy meets girl? The passionate kisses and the fairy-tale ending? Or is it a lifetime of tragedy, paid in advance, for a few stolen moments of pure bliss? The pain and the suffering that, in the end, you can say are worth it for having found the missing piece of your soul?
The answer is: I don’t know. I don’t know what makes a great love story. I only know what makes my love story. I only know that finding Cole when I did, when Emmy and I were running from a nightmare, was the only thing that saved me. That saved us. He was more broken than I was, but somehow we took each other’s shattered pieces and made a whole. If that is what makes a great love story, if that is what makes an epic romance, then mine…ours is the greatest of them all.
Contains material that some may find disturbing. Not intended for readers under the age of 18.

5 STAR REVIEW ~
I don't think there is a story in the world that the amazingly talented M. Leighton couldn't tell and make beautiful. Pocketful of Sand, her newest contemporary romance is exactly that. Beautiful. Beautifully written. Beautifully told. Beautifully received.
Pocketful of Sand is the story of Cole, crazy recluse Cole and the stunning and determined Eden. Cole has a past no one would ever want to relive, while Eden is running from her past with extra cargo in tow. When Eden shows up in the small Maine town that Cole is a resident in, the magnetism between these two is just so undeniable, so strong that no matter the effort from each of them to stay away from the other and out of each others complicated histories, they are drawn  together by the comfort they each feel from one another.
The feels, oh god the feels in this book. I was on the edge of my seat, figuratively speaking throughout most of this book. My heart broke for each of these individual characters in their own way. Cole was so broken but so amazing and gorgeous. His soul was so true and bright even under all the sadness and darkness he tried to keep himself behind. As soon as Eden needed anything he would drop everything to be there for her. She was his one weakness in the wall of stone he had put up around himself after tragedy struck him. Eden was fiercely independent. She had a past she was running from and she desperately didn't want to be found, especially because she needed to keep her "baggage" safe.
Cole seeped his way into Eden's heart and eventually became her protector.
These two are HOT. Cole is hot. Hot. Hot. Oh my goodness I fell in love with that goodness gracious of a man with fierce blue eyes.  He was all alpha and his strong sexual prowl of Eden was just sexy as sin. *fans self* Whew. Eden and Cole had such a raw chemistry that M. Leighton did such a beautiful job of telling on the pages of this story.
The writing flowed flawlessly. The story was strong and beautiful. The story was completely different than anything else I've ever read. It had such a different feel to it. And it was a little out of the box for M. Leighton but so fantastically written that I loved it all the same..
Do they get a happily ever after? I'm not telling! You'll just have to read it for yourself and see!
