5 Star Review--Ripped by Katy Evans

The fifth story in the new adult series that began with the New York Times bestseller REAL
 New Adult Contemporary

Every woman wants me--except the one I sing for.
Seattle shakes with anticipation: they call it the concert of the year. They say girls are getting pregnant just thinking about my band being in town.
But when you love a girl, you don't leave her with nothing but a ring and a promise. Any man with half a brain should know.
So what did I expect my girl would do when she saw me again?
Well, for starters, she loathes our music. Particularly the song I wrote about her.
When I sing it, the stadium is in an uproar. Thousands of fans scream my name like I'm a god--but yeah, not her. Crystal clear: the girl's not happy to see me.
Black hair, black boots, a bad attitude, that's her -- Pandora Stone is a freaking man-eater and she's out for my blood.
That's alright.
Let her come at me. Because I'm out for her heart and, this time, there's no way she can stop me.
 Review
I seriously can't get enough of the Real series and Ripped has not only topped the list but now I don't know who I like more, Remy or MacKenna.
Pandora was a little different than most of her friends. She didn't believe in the happily ever after and love...well she didn't believe in it for her but things can always change.  At a young age she loved MacKenna but life was planned out for both of them and the events that took place put them on different paths.

When they are finally together under different circumstances, everything erupts and its a tantalizing, can't stop reading, I'm missing work type of story.

Mackenna Jones Is Back in Town! the headline says, and just reading that feels like a punch in the gut.
I squeeze my eyes shut and open them, my stomach trembling uncontrollably.
Mackenna Jones is back in town!
Fuck, I really need to stop reading that.
Mackenna Jones is back in town!

Pandora is classic. She takes care of her cousin in way that is needed. Her mother has custody but she wanted a different life than what she was given as a child.  She has to "get back" at Mackenna and then she can move on...or can she?  Pandora needs the fulfillment that she has not yet received but life is lacking.  Now onto the plan to live again and get this man out of her mind.  He controls her thoughts and deep down inside despite everything, she loves him but its buried so deep, it's hard to get it out.

Mackenna has lived a life that no child had to live but it all came at a cost and the person behind all of it only had their feelings in mind.  Mackenna lived the life of a rockstar but he never gave it his all. There were two people holding him back and he had to get both of them "back" in order to live again.

"On a scale of one to ten, how'd that go for you?"
"A million"  He laughs and squeezes me in his arms, I sweat his ego just went Shrek-sized....."Your ego is huge."
"Babe, my dick is just as juge as my ego, and they both liked being petted by you."

The banter that these two have after all of these years are still there but the love that they both have for each other has consequences and one has paid the price for years while the other suffered for unknown reasons.

I can't just name on thing that I loved because I loved the book.  Pandora's life wasn't the best thing in the world and at a young age she had to endure something horrible but also keep the part of her heart that she gave away in tact after life dealt her a bad hand.  I loved how the love that they once had transformed back and even better than before.  Each of them had  people in their ears, some good and some bad but they depended on their own hearts.  It took them a while to get them but when they did, it was a love story to remember.

I can't wait for the next story. This is by far the best story of love, friendship and growing families that I have read. If there were more than 5 star to give, Ripped would have them and all of the stories in the "REAL" series would have them all.

 About the Author

Katy Evans grew up with books and book-boyfriends until she found a real sexy boyfriend to love. They married and are now hard at work on their own happily ever after. Katy loves her family and friends, and she also loves reading, walking, baking, and being consumed by her characters until she reaches “The End.” Which is, hopefully, only the beginning…
