I had my whole life mapped out. Perfect guy. Perfect friends. Everything was exactly the way I wanted it.

That was until that night--the one I can’t remember. It’s all my fault, and now the memories are all I have left of him. Of us.

My guilt drowns me until Sam Shea steps back into my life and helps me to the surface. He slowly opens my heart and crawls deep inside before I even realize what’s happening. I know I don’t deserve him.

While I’m trying to get used to my new life, pieces of that night slowly start to come back to me. Lies and secrets shatter everything I thought I knew.

Maybe I’m not the only one living with regret.

The beautiful story telling of Lisa De Jong has captivated and devastated from When It Rains with Asher, Kate and Beau. Its made me smile and cry with Drake and Emery in Changing Forever, and it made me believe in a second chance at true love in Living With Regret.

Living With Regret is the third full length novel in the Rain Series by Lisa De Jong. It follows the beautiful Rachel, after tragedy has struck and taken away her belief at what forever could be, and when she believes that there may be no way to go on. After one fateful night everything Rachel believes is changed and the worst part is she can't remember one piece of it. She can't remember how the love of her life came to not be sitting beside her anymore. She can't remember how she ended up in this reality she doesn't recognize.

The only thing she knows is her former best friend and boy next door, Sam Shea is the only who makes her feel even a little bit like herself. Living With Regret is Rachel's journey to figure out what went wrong, what really happened so the regret she is living with everyday can be lessened even if just a little bit. Sam is there to help her piece it all together and make her believe there can be a new beginning from such a broken ending. She has the help of her friend Kate, yes the Kate from When it Rains, to help as well.

Lisa De Jong has such a way with telling stories. They literally have the ability to hold you from some of the first pages. I love that her stories aren't conventional either. She tells stories about topics that a lot of others are afraid to touch on. Her books are emotional, can be very heartbreaking and can make you smile all in the same story. Living With Regret was no different.

This story held my heart. I was so scared for Rachel and when she would finally learn the truth. I was rooting for Sam because he really was there for everything and I was praying the truth to that horrible day wouldn't destroy Rachel beyond repair that she wouldn't see the true love sitting right in front of her.

You want emotional, you got it. You want beautiful, you got it. You want raw, it's all here. Living With Regret was a beautiful story for second chances at love.
