If there is one thing Bella Jewel does and she does is well, is write us a biker romance. Holy crap. I was in love, in love with this story from the first page. First I loved that even with it being a biker romance, the plot idea was original. I mean really, what a bad ass job our heroine Ash has. And what a way for her to meet our hero Beau.
Ash and Beau (Krypt) definitely don't have a conventional meeting. Ash has every right to hate him, but his damn memorizing eyes make it hard for her to stay away. When put in the path of danger, Krypt saves Ash. He saves her and we get our first real glimpse into the real Krypt. You can still tell he has his deep dark secrets, things that torment him, but you can also tell he has a soul.
I don't want to give too much away because I feel like the plot makes this story and it wasn't at all what I was expecting. But I will tell you this, Ash and Krypt, steamy, sexy, and holy damn was that sexual chemistry just off the charts. They just have a completely raw magnetism about them. Rip your clothes off, fan yourself down, and take a cold shower kind of chemistry.
I am a sucker, a sucker I tell you for a great MC read, so I knew I would love this story. I fell in love with the side characters just as much as I did the main characters. Maddox, don't even get me started. Leo & Claire, you know you want to know more. I knew when I picked up Precarious by Bella Jewel, I was looking in the right place for my next favorite MC read, probably even my favorite MC series.
Precarious was easily put to the top of my favorites for Bella Jewel reads, and as much as I loved the Sinner's MC, I think I may have fallen in love with Joker's Wrath even more..
This book was an easy, and I do mean easy 5 star read for me. I am dying for a little more Maddox and I can't wait to see what else is going to happen to Ash & Krypt in Melancholy. It's the waiting that is going to kill this MC lovin' little lady.
