Review---Fight for You by Magan Vernon

Cover
synopsis
Nicky Ragusa lives his life inside the cage, circuiting the underground ring to escape his fate as the mafia prince. When Jackie Marks crashes into his life, he’ll take the fight outside the cage.
But the battle for Jackie’s heart comes with a steep price. Nicky’s father has wanted him to take over the family business for years, and the time for running is over. Now Nicky is right where his father has always wanted him: in the middle of a war.
All Nicky has ever wanted to do was fight. Now all he has to do is fight for her.

Review:

When I started reading Fight For You, I didn't know how the mafia aspect would be. When I think of Nicky, I see him as a strong man but also somewhat weak to his father. Nicky is a fighter so when he's in the ring, he is control of everything but once he steps out of the ring, there is no control. When he meets Jackie, it was some type of pull that he felt towards her but there was also a protective side of him that showed. Jackie was simply a spitfire but them again, she was a little timid in certain areas.

In this book, we are showed a different side of the "love" story. There was a dark side to the world mafia world. The things that we read and hear about are definitely in the story. I think these aspects put Nicky in a tough situation because he is a loving man but the business is not what he dreams of. There are two sides to him that we see and I can't figure out which side a like more. When he is with family, it's this soft side to him that I absolutely love but outside of that, he's fierce.

I would have liked to know a little more of Jackie and her roots. I feel like I missed something with her character and I need to get to know how these two clicked. I enjoyed the overall story and loved the HEA.
