I've had Cake by Nicole Reed on my kindle FOREVVVVERR!! I kept seeing and thinking hmm I will have to read that soon. And then the blog tour came along and gave me the perfect chance to finally read it, no excuses and all I can say is WHY THE HELL DID I WAIT SO LONG?!
I lovvvvvveeedddd LOVED loved LOVVVVEEED Cake.
It was hilarious.
It was witty.
It was sweet.
It was sexy.
And it was a funny, crazy, beautiful love story.
Kylie is a nice change from the sad, dependent heroine. She is a breath of fresh air from our normal damsel in distress. And she has a pretty kick as best friend too! Madison is freaking hilarious. She had me rolling with laughter & cringing with some of her crudeness. She was definitely a great addition to this book on top of an already awesome heroine.
Now don't even get me started on the arrogant "asshole" that is Dray Savage. Oh my gaawwd that man had sex rolling off of him like no body's business. When unexpected circumstances throw him & his arch nemesis Kylie together, the sexual frustration between these two becomes intense & almost too much to take!
Not being able to take the frustration, Kylie, who is waiting for her "one true love" to realize he loves her, & Dray, who's foster brother happens to be the affection of Kylie's one true love, embark on a strictly physical relationship. What seems only physical, isn't just that for one of the two & in time, it develops into more for the other as well.
When Trent, the brother/true love returns, Kylie and Dray are thrown on their access. Can they continue to have each other when Kylie seemingly is in love with someone else? Or do they have to end something that started as sex but turned into something so much more for the both of them?
THUS BEGINS the love triangle! I knew who I was rooting for the whole time I read this book. I knew I loved Dray and Kylie. I loved their crazy hate antics and loved even more their sexy crazy love antics! They became so much fun on the pages of this book. I loved their story. I loved the writing. I loved everything about this book! And to top it off, Kylie had a pretty bad as Aunt named Leigh. You fall in love with her as well. She makes you laugh & sniffle but most of all she is the reasonable force behind all of Kylie's blunders!
I loved CAKE! Loved it. I am seriously so sad that I spent so much time leaving it sitting on my kindle when I could have been devouring the pages of this book. It was an EASY, EASY 4.5 STARS for me!
My only complaint would be how abruptly the book ended because I seriously just wanted more of Dray & Kylie and their non conventional love story!

In my head, I can see images of us entwined together, his dark against my light skin. The sight, in my mind’s eye, so clear, so erotic, that my breathing becomes erratic just with the thought. Closing my eyes, I feel his fingers glide to my breasts, circling the tip through my clothes. My clit throbs in tune with his movements almost as if he is touching me there. Dray grasps my nipple tightly as he pulls and squeezes. The dual motion overwhelms my senses, and an orgasm overcomes me, rippling up and through my body. Clenching my legs together, I moan as I ride it out. My body shakes, tingling with the aftermath of what just happened, and what I need to be happening again; however, sanity returns with me still sitting on the side of the couch. Opening my eyes, Dray stares at me like he knows my every thought. At least now, he has a supreme satisfied smile on his mouth and his shorts are in a superior tent out front.

I love angst….I thrive on it, but only the fictional kind. I adore a story that grips the reader from the beginning and doesn’t let go…EVER. I’m an avid reader who just recently discovered my love of writing. My favorite things in life include my three wild & crazy kids, Reese’s Pieces, and every genre of music. I reside in the Deep South.
