Release Day, Author Interview & 5 STAR REVIEW~ Paper Princess by Erin Watt is LIVE!

SYNOPSIS:

From strip clubs and truck stops to southern coast mansions and prep schools, one girl tries to stay true to herself.

These Royals will ruin you…

Ella Harper is a survivor—a pragmatic optimist. She’s spent her whole life moving from town to town with her flighty mother, struggling to make ends meet and believing that someday she’ll climb out of the gutter. After her mother’s death, Ella is truly alone.

Until Callum Royal appears, plucking Ella out of poverty and tossing her into his posh mansion among his five sons who all hate her. Each Royal boy is more magnetic than the last, but none as captivating as Reed Royal, the boy who is determined to send her back to the slums she came from.

Reed doesn’t want her. He says she doesn’t belong with the Royals.

He might be right.

Wealth. Excess. Deception. It’s like nothing Ella has ever experienced, and if she’s going to survive her time in the Royal palace, she’ll need to learn to issue her own Royal decrees.

*Note: Does end in a cliffhanger BUT book two is out very shortly on July 25th!

AUTHOR INTERVIEW:

We had the chance to chat with the ladies behind our delicious Royals! We get down to the nitty gritty and find out where it all started and what's next! Read below!

Hello hello ladies! We can't thank you enough for getting down and dirty with us! We can't wait to know more about what goes on in the brains of Erin Watt!

Hey girl hey!
CCBB: So.. Everyone wants to know... How was Erin Watt created? Who's idea was it?

Erin Watt: We both agreed giving our new project a penname was a good idea because it’s so unlike anything else we’ve written that it deserved its own identity. It’s also targeted at a younger audience then our usual books. The name itself came from our mutual love of football wrapped up in tributes to our favorite players.

CCBB: Was it hard to work with another author on a story? Was it a first for either of you?

Erin Watt: We’ve both had past experiences working with other authors and co-writing books, but every time you write with someone new it’s all about figuring out how the two of you mesh. We’re very lucky, because we’re incredibly like-minded so the process was smooth and fun.

CCBB: But seriously, your book was amazing so... Who came up with the idea of The Royals?

Erin Watt: The idea just popped up during an email discussion we were having about what we loved most about YA books. We both wanted to experiment with something completely over the top in a soap-opera style, with super rich kids and lots of mean girls. After emailing back and forth for a while, we realized we had our story all plotted out. Elle came up with the name of our wealthy family—The Royals. And Jen was the one who decided our heroine would be a teenage stripper

CCBB: I personally loved Reed! And Callum, you know if you like an older man. *smirk* Who was your favorite character to write?

Erin Watt: We loved writing all of them! Ella, Reed, and Easton would probably be our favorites, though. They were so complicated in their own right.

CCBB: We all want to know! Do you think there was anything difficult about writing with another author? Maybe finding your flow or deciding a storyline?

Erin Watt: This process was so easy, seriously. When you work with another writer you get so many benefits, like little secret inside jokes, instant feedback, someone to bounce ideas off of. You can’t get distracted and wander off to do other things (unless it’s watching football- then it’s ok!) when you have someone who’s waiting for you to send your pages back. We’ve also had a few friendly arguments about character or story plots. It’s a give-take-love-football relationship with us.

CCBB: Getting personal... *laughs* Who or what inspired either of you to write your first story? Was it an event or person or book?

Elle: I can’t even remember if there was an inspiration for me. As far back as I can remember I always wanted to be a writer. I started writing stories when I was a kid. I finished my first “book” when I was twelve. It was about a hundred pages and super cheesy!
Jen: The whole indie boom in 2012 spurred my interest in writing a book. I decided to write something I loved–epistolary romances. It’s about a Marine who falls in love with his penpal. Almost every chapter starts out with one of his letters and it was my favorite part of the book to write.

CCBB: It's a given but... Do you each have a favorite book of each other's? You both write such awesome books!

Elle: My favorite book of Jen’s is Jockblocked—I loved the hero in that book! He was hot and sweet and hot and funny and did I mention hot?
Jen: I love so many of Elle’s books. Her Out-of-Uniform series was my introduction to her books. There’s a hilarious scene in “As Hot As It Gets” where one of the characters is asked to give some bedroom tips to his girlfriend’s teenage brother. While Elle has always managed to make me laugh, she really tore my heart out in The Score (in a really good way). Maybe my favorite Elle Kennedy will always be her most recent!

CCBB: When is the next novel in The Royals series out? I cannot wait! Can it be today??! Please! I need more Reed!

Erin Watt: Broken Prince is scheduled for July 25th 2016, so it’s not *that* long a wait?

CCBB: What can we expect from the next novels? Same suspense and intrigue as the first? That cliffy got me like WOAH!

Erin Watt: We don’t want to give anything away, so we’ll just say “anything can happen”…

CCBB: Is this the only thing you will see from Erin Watt? Can we expect more from this awesome author duo?
Erin Watt: We’ve got a few ideas kicking around. Right now we’re going to focus on The Royals series and take everything else one day at a time.
CCBB: We can't thank you enough ladies! It's been amazing, fun and super informative! Now seriously.... Where's my Reed?! :)
Erin Watt: He’s waiting for you in book two ;) Thanks so much for having us!

5 STAR REVIEW:
Oh my goodness! This book, Paper Princess by Erin Watt, was absolutely one of my favorites of the year. Paper Princess had everything I wanted in it to make it a great novel. But that cliffhanger, oh my goodness. I can't, it left me in such a massive book hangover.

Erin Watt is a new (yet seasoned) author on the scene. She is comprised of two amazing bestselling authors, Jen Frederick and Elle Kennedy, and if you have ever read anything by these two ladies, you know they never ever disappoint. Elle writes some of my faaaaavorite books. SO when I heard that these ladies were the master mind behind the book that kind of became my obsession, I loved it even more.

Paper Princess follows Ella Harper from her hard, do it herself, take care of herself life, to a new life of wealth and fortune. But with it comes some baggage, in the form of The Royals. First of Reed Royal, who is right around the same age as Ella, has one hell of a chip on his shoulder. From the first moment he meets Ella, he knows she is going to cause problems for her, or so he thinks. Reed and Ella develop this back and forth. They have so much animosity between the two that quickly turns into electrifying passion.

Reed is a delicious man in a whole other ballgame than what Ella is used to but that doesn't deter her in the least. This book for me was the perfect mix of Clueless (the movie) and Cruel Intentions (the movie). It had so much fire and spark, It kept my attention the entire time and I could not stop READING! I was immediately sucked into the world of the Royals.

Broken Prince can't come fast enough. Erin Watt wrote with conviction and talent. The words flowed and they just kept you wanting more. So much more. Reed Royal? Yes please.

Bring on the next book!
