CHECK OUT THE INTERVIEW BELOW!
She talks about past & future works! AND of course her sexy men!

Hey Tara! It’s so awesome to see you again! (Well even if only metaphorically speaking!) Hope you’re doing well. You’ve had quite the awesome last few months! A lot of new books coming out, series finishing with the Playing With Fire series, bringing us something new and sexy too like Burned. It sounds like the last few months may have been chaotic but a blast!

You recently released Tattoos & Tatas, a novella in the Chocoholics series and we know that for the month of October, all proceeds from purchases of this book are going the be donated towards breast cancer awareness. I think what you’re doing is beyond incredible. It’s so beautiful and selfless…

Which brings me to my first question, what inspired you to write this book? Is this book derived from any real life occurrences for you or someone you know? I know many of us, family, friends, readers, strangers have all been touched by cancer in our lives in one way or another. It’s such a powerful subject to touch on, and read about but I don’t think enough light is brought onto cancer awareness.

(Tara) I got the idea for this book last December. It was the 3 anniversary of my mother’s death from Leukemia. My family and I always get together to drink heavily and reminisce about our times in hospitals when she was sick. We are assholes no matter what the situation, and being on the Oncology floor or the ICU ward was no different. Most of the material in this book came from real life things that happened while my mom was sick.

The Chocoholics series is known for it’s comedy. I’m sure Tattoos & Tatas took on more of a serious note. Was this book difficult to write, if so what was the most difficult for you without giving too much away?

(Tara) From day one when I spoke to my publicist and editor about the book, I knew it was going to be a hard book to write. Not only because it touches on a very serious subject matter, but also because this is the Chocolate Lovers gang! They are known for being stupid and hilarious! I knew I would have to walk a fine line between comedy and serious, without teetering one way more than the other. I wanted it to be a good mixture of lighthearted while also dealing with a very important subject matter, without anyone thinking I was making fun of breast cancer. The most difficult part for me to write was a scene between Liz and Claire when they get into their first fight. I’ve always been very open about the fact that I am Claire and my real life best friend is Liz, but for this book, I had to reverse the rolls in my head. Liz reacted exactly the way I would react in a situation like this. It broke my heart to put these best friends through that, but it was important to the story.

We have loved all our Chocolate Lover babies, from Gavin and Tyler, to Charlotte and Ava, what more can we expect from this series? It’s hysterical and I love that it has so much history, because of their even more hysterical parents we meet in the Chocolate Lovers series.

(Tara) Right now, the only plan I have is for Molly to get her own book. Molly is Charlotte and Ava’s baby sister and I’m planning to release that book sometime in the spring 2015. After that, who knows!

Alright enough of our sex fiend friends! :) I want to talk about my FAVORITE series by you… The Playing With Fire series. Still to this day, my favorite Tara book is A Beautiful Lie. It was FANTASTIC, gripping, compelling and told such a beautiful story. You recently completed the series with Closer to The Edge. Is it bittersweet ending the series?

(Tara) Closer to the Edge was actually one of the first stories I ever wrote about 6 years ago. I wrote it just for myself and it never saw the light of day!  When I first got the idea for the Playing With Fire series, I planned on making Closer to the Edge the first book. Then, the idea for A Beautiful Lie was formed and I pushed it back. It just kept getting pushed back until I finally decided it needed to be the final story in the series. I’m still in mourning that I’m finished writing about my Navy SEAL boys, but they might just make a reappearance in a spin-off series I’m thinking about doing, so there’s that LOL!

I have to know because we already know what my favorite book from the series is, what is your favorite book from the Playing With Fire Series and WHY?

(Tara) Closer to the Edge is my favorite. I think because it was the first story I ever wrote and over the years I kept going back to it, tweaking it, thinking about it, falling more in love with it.

Let’s talk about our heroes, your sexy beasts! I loved, LOVED Tyler in Passions & Ponies and I loved Garrett in A Beautiful Lie but I am not going to lie, Dallas in Shame on Him and Collin in Burned are my two favorite sexy men you’ve written. Who is your favorite male lead you’ve written? Who was the hardest male lead for you to write?

(Tara) OMG it’s so hard to choose!!!  I love them all so much, but in different ways! I think I’ll always have a soft spot for Garrett from A Beautiful Lie because his was the first “serious” book I published. The hardest male leads to write are always my funny guys. I don’t think I’m funny at all and I always second guess the things these idiots do!

The most difficult but most beautiful book I’ve read by you is Watch Over Me. That book had me sobbing.. I had a major book hangover after that book. It was amazing. I have lost a lot of important people to me over the last few years and that book just hit home. Where did the idea for Watch Over Me come from? Was that book difficult to write? It’s one of your more serious ones but it is still just as fantastic as the others.

(Tara) This was the hardest book I have ever written. It’s based almost 100% on what I went through when my own mother died. Every single thought and emotion that Addison goes through is all me. My heart and soul is all over that story and aside from being hard to write, it was twice as hard to publish! I’m still a little freaked out that people are reading it, but I’m so very proud of that book. In a way, going through the memories and the emotions all over again helped me heal and move on. I didn’t handle my mother’s death very well at all and I went through a period of pretending like she never existed just so I could get up in the morning and make it through each day. Writing this book made me face my fears and my depression and it was very therapeutic for me.

So, we’ve talked about new releases. We’ve talked about my favorites.. We’ve talked about sexy men but we haven’t talked about what’s next. What is the genius Tara going to bring us next? Can you give us a little hint? Maybe some sneak peeks? :) We’re chomping at the bit for more Tara Sivec? What’s next for you?

(Tara) Well, I’m currently working on the 2
book in the Ignite Series – Branded. This is the story of Finnley’s best friend Phina and Collin’s best friend DJ. This story is going to be suspenseful and erotic, just like Burned, but a bit darker due to some issues that Phina has. I’m also working on a super top secret Psychological Thriller that I’m DYING to share with everyone, but can’t do it just yet! I love reading books that completely f*ck with your mind and keep you guessing until the very end so that’s what I’m aiming for with this book. The title, summary and cover reveal will be coming soon so stay tuned!

I asked some readers if they could ask Tara Sivec anything, what would it be and this is a few of the questions we got….

A. from Philly-- Tara, are you always so wild & crazy?

(Tara) Absolutely. I’m loud, inappropriate and insane all the time. Just ask my husband LOL!

M. from the UK-- Tara, what is your favorite gift from fans that you have received at signings?

(Tara) Gaaaah that’s so hard! I’ve gotten SO many amazing and thoughtful gifts that I have an entire bookshelf in my office to showcase them! Really, I love everything that I’m given. I love that people see something and it makes them think of me. I love that people are so thoughtful!

J. from Seattle-- Is there a subject you refuse to write on?

(Tara) Ooooh good question!  I used to think I had a few taboo subjects I would never touch with a ten-foot pole, but I can’t say that anymore. It all depends on the story and if the subject matter is detrimental to tell that story. I would never put something like that in a book just for the sake of doing it. It HAS to flow with the story.

D. from Austin-- Which of your male characters is most like your significant other?

(Tara) My husband likes to say he’s Carter from Chocolate Lovers. I let him have that illusion. He’s more of a Drew than a Carter

I have had SUCH a blast getting to know you a little bit more. You’re still as funny as I remember you! It was definitely a privilege to get to spend this time with you. Thank you so much! Congratulations on all the new releases. I’m so excited to read them. My kindle is stocked and ready to go. **SMOOCHES**
