5 STAR REVIEW & AUTHOR INTERVIEW~ All Things Pretty Part 2 by M. Leighton

Synopsis:

The conclusion to Sig & Tommi's story.....

**The total length of this novel is 348 pages. The first part (here) is 57,000 words and the additional FREE part two is 26,000 words.**

Pretending to be something they’re not, afraid to trust anyone completely, destined to tear each other apart– this is the story of unlikely love and unbearable consequences.

Sig Locke is a cop. He was raised by a cop and all his brothers are cops. He bleeds blue, believes in right and wrong, and sees in black and white, never in shades of gray.

But that was before he met Tommi.

Tommi, with her long legs and bright green eyes, she captured Sig’s interest from the moment he saw her. Even after he discovered who she was–the girlfriend of a drug dealer, the beauty behind a criminal–he still found her utterly irresistible. What Sig doesn’t know, however, is that she has a secret even a cop can’t uncover.

Tommi Lawrence hasn’t had an easy life, and it only got more complicated the day she met Sig. She learned long ago that she can’t trust anyone. Her gut tells her that Sig is no exception, her heart tells her that he is. But that was before she found out his real identity.

Can love be forged in a fire of lies? Or will the truth destroy them both?

---5 STAR REVIEW---

This was the  perfect conclusion to an awesome story! All Things Pretty Pt 1, left us with a doozie of a suspenseful cliffhanger. We didn't know what was next for Sig and Tommi. We didn't know if they could survive the outside forces they had fighting against them, like Tonin or the lies Tommi was hiding from Sig and the lies Sig was hiding from Tommi.

I am happy to report without any spoilers, that there is a happily ever after and it's safe to believe in the impossible. Sig and Tommi were beautiful even in the deeper, darker part of the story. They couldn't hide how they felt about each other and it showed in the pages of this story.

M. Leighton's writing is flawless, like all of her other stories! She just has such a sense of words that make everything flow beuatifully. I love that instead of ending this story, she continued it on. She gave her characters such depth and feelings, it made this story so much more enjoyable.

I loved Sig. Like LOVED. This is no secret. I loved Tommi even more. She was strong, never bending and she only had the people she loved in mind, never herself first. That's a hard aspect to find in a heroine. She was fearless and fiesty and I loved that about her. She really made this last half of the book flow.

I loved the ending. I loved our Locke and Spencer peeks! This story wouldn't have been complete without it. And my god, that epilogue. Beautiful, simply beautiful.

Thank you, M. Leighton for sharing Sig and Tommi with us and showing us the true meaning of love. Even in the darkest of times, love can shine through and you showed us that with Sig, Tommi and All Things Pretty.

AUTHOR INTERVIEW:

Hello, hello, hello my beautiful friend! It’s so great to chat with you again, Michelle. First off congratulations on the sexy as sin, Sig Locke and his lady love Tommi, in All Things Pretty. They are fabulous. It was so great getting more Locke and a little Spencer again. The release has been so much fun for us at Crazy, Chaotic Book Babes with all the awesome *I may be a little biased* teaser pictures and Sig pimping going on!

So Michelle, now that Sig & Tommi have their story out, will there be anymore to the Pretty Series? Are you going to give us anymore Locke or Spencer?

(MICHELLE)  As of right this minute, I don’t have any plans to write more in that series, but I’m a big fan of “never say never”:) LOL

What was your favorite thing about All Things Pretty? The story was two parts, we understand due to contract obligations. Was it difficult to decide where to separate the story? Most readers HATE cliffhangers, the way you left Part 1 was perfect, and Part 2 just blended right in flawlessly.

(MICHELLE)  Actually, the whole thing caused me quite a bit of heartburn. LOL  I really didn’t want to rush the story and when I reached the 50k word mark, I realized that I had a decision to make.  Once I decided to write the book as it needed to be written and put the remaining portion out for free, I had ANOTHER decision to make– where to end part one.

I am very much aware of how much everyone hates cliffhangers, but I couldn’t leave off right in the middle of a sentence or right in the middle of the climax.  The only choice I felt like I really had was to end it as the story was spiraling up into the climax. So that’s what I did.

Throughout the entire process, I just wanted to give y’all the best read that I could for a reasonable price.  I mean, I was NOT going to stretch it out into two books, so… I thought this was the best all the way around.

You haven’t been shy about Sig capturing your heart… What about Sig and Tommi was so special? Why was he your favorite in the Pretty Series to write? Was there something specific that drew you so much to Tommi & Sig?

(MICHELLE)  I am a sucker for humor!  I love a man who can make me laugh. And Sig does that.  Often.  He was a pure joy to write!  I had a little soft spot for Tommi, too, though.  I admire a woman who will put the wants and needs of her family above her own. And Tommi does that.  She does it without complaint or hesitation, and I respect her tremendously!

Alright so we’ve touched on the Pretty Series, now…. NOW I want to talk about the sexiness that is Cash & Nash Davenport! Everyone loves those beautiful bad boys! Can we expect more from them ever? Maybe in the future? A Novella, perhaps?

(MICHELLE)  As a matter of fact, I’m seriously planning a little Christmas som’n som’n from those two.  I don’t know solid details yet, as I am just in the beginning stages of writing my next book for Berkley. Once it’s completed, I’ll know more about a timeline.  YAY!

Another series that captivated me and held me, was your amazing Wild Ones series.  But seriously, that man Trick. He is my favorite of your book boyfriends. He was just so… ugh, I just don’t have the words. Trick was just Trick. Him and Cami were my first book, The Wild Ones, by you. I LOVED THEM. And that’s an understatement. Is there a chance for more from our favorite Wild Ones? Is the series complete?

(MICHELLE)  As much as I loved them, that series is complete as well.  Trick was a huge “man” in my life. His story brought me to a place, professionally, that I never thought I could be.  He was kind of like my first and he’ll always have a special place in my heart.  I think that’s why I wouldn’t want to write more about him.  I think he’s perfect just the way he is.

Now that you know my favorite book boyfriend, I want to talk about yours? Who was the most challenging male character from any of your books that you’ve ever written? Who’s your favorite male character?

(MICHELLE)  Wow!  Tough questions!  LOL  My most challenging male character was probably Reese.  He was so complicated and his history with Kennedy was so deep and turbulent, I struggled with understanding him more.  But once I DID get to know him, I adored him!  He was such an amazing man once he gave himself up to Kennedy and their past together.

As for my favorite, I’m not sure I can even answer that. Hehe  I think of one, but then I think of another one that I love.   And then another.  And then another.  I don’t think I could pick just one. It’s like picking a favorite child:)  LOL

How about female? Favorite? Most challenging? I really enjoyed Tommi in All Things Pretty, she was badass and wasn’t afraid to stand for what she believed in. Another favorite of mine was Sloane, Sig’s sister, heroine of All The Pretty Lies. She was so strong and different and I loved it.

(MICHELLE)  GAH!  Another tough one!  I admire backbone in a woman, so I tend to lean toward those types, but I can’t discount Miracle from Fragile.  Something about her, even just thinking about her, makes me smile. Makes me feel like a better person just having known her.

You made a difficult decision a while back and pulled one of your books from publication. I know that wasn’t something that was taken lightly. Until I Break was fantastic. Is there a chance maybe in the future that you would consider re-publishing it?

(MICHELLE)  Thank you so much!  Again, I try never to say never, but I have no immediate plans to re-release it:)

You have a few paranormal series out as well. Can you tell us a bit about some of those? I’ve had the privilege to read about Madly. Can you tell us a bit about that series? And also maybe about the Blood Like Poison series? What was your favorite book out of this style to write? Can we expect more books like this from you?

(MICHELLE)  I love writing paranormal!  I hope never to have to choose just one genre. LOL  And Bo (from Blood Like Poison) is my first love.  I have a thing for vampires and he was just…just…wow! I loved him.  And theirs isn’t the typical vampire-boy-meets-human-girl story either.  All sorts of things are woven into that trilogy, and I would still love to go back and write one more book in it.  I just loved it!

As for writing more any time soon, though, I’m definitely going to finish Madly. I’m hoping for early 2015.  Her story is very fantastical, as she is a mermaid that lives on dry land in a town called Slumber.  The Mer function like the guardians of the evil creatures/figures from fairy tales.  When several of them (the bad guys, called Lore) escape their prison and come back to Slumber, Madly and her soldier love interest, Jackson, are the only ones who can save the human race.  Gosh, I get excited just talking about them!  hehe

Your books are amazing. Your writing is phenomenal. I can’t wait for more. What can we expect next from you? Any new projects in the works for you?

(MICHELLE)  *beams* Thank you so, so much!  I appreciate that more than you know.  As for new projects, I’m writing a new trilogy for Berkley that’s due out beginning in August of 2015.  It’s a little darker, and that’s about all I can say. LOL  I have a couple of independent projects I’d like to do as well, but I have to fit them in where I can around the Berkley projects.  One is Madly 4 and the other two are contemporary romances.

Ok… I have to ask because I’m a blogger and I live & breath to read.. What’s currently on your kindle? What are you reading currently? Any recommendations for what to read next for our readers?

(MICHELLE)  Right this minute, I’m between books, but I just finished Outlander by Diana Gabaldon.  Before that, I had the pleasure of reading my BFF and crit partner, Courtney Cole’s newest book. It’s called Nocte and it’s fantastic!

We asked a few readers if there was anything they could ask you what would they ask.. Here’s some of the questions:

-What inspired you to write?

(MICHELLE)  Twilight.  Hehe I know that sounds so tired and overdone, but it’s so very, very true!

-Who’s your favorite author?

(MICHELLE)  Johanna Lindsey. I’ve read her since I was old enough to sneak romances from my mom’s nightstand. LOL  She and Nora Roberts are go-to authors for me.

-Is there a subject you refuse to write?

(MICHELLE)  I write what interests me, what inspires me. I’ve never tried to work certain things into or out of my books.  I guess I’d say that I refuse to write anything that I don’t WANT to write.

-You write some HOT stuff, is writing naughty hard sometimes?

(MICHELLE)  Heck no!  It’s the MOST fun! LOL  In fact, I try very hard to keep things under control and not go overboard. Hehehe  Those are some of my favorites scenes.  Does that make me weird?

Let’s turn the tables a bit… Anything you want to ask us?

(MICHELLE)  What do YOU as readers want from ME?  From your books?

Thank you! SO MUCH. For taking time out of your busy schedule to be here with us! It’s always so fantastic chatting with you! Congratulations on All Things Pretty again! We hope we can chat again soon! We wish you all the luck on your future endeavors! AND SERIOUSLY, we can’t wait for more from the always humble and incredibly sweet M. Leighton!

(MICHELLE) Thank YOU so much for having me! I appreciate your kindness and support and just overall awesomeness!  I count myself lucky to know you:)

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

I was born and raised in the United States, and I’ve lived in several of the fabulous fifty. Though I currently live in the deep South, I spent much of my childhood up North and hope to return there one day. A few other things about me: I believe that sometimes you have to look really, REALLY hard to find the good in people, but it's there. I believe that I'm shrinking (I swear five years ago I was two inches taller). I believe my husband is quite possibly one of the most amazing men in the entire world (I can't be sure because I haven't met all of them). I believe coffee and chocolate, when combined, could be the basis for world peace. I believe that Jesus rocks and communism doesn’t. I believe that white makes me look fat and black collects lint. I believe summer's too hot, winter's too cold and fall was made for football. I like dogs better than cats and the first movie in a trilogy is invariably the best. But most of all, I believe that love conquers all.
